About the Sacramento History Museum
The Sacramento History Museum is located in Sacramento, California. The exhibits within the museum all focus on the history of the first Sacramento residents; the pioneers that flooded in during the California Gold Rush from 1848 until 1855. The Sacramento History Museum also features several interactive exhibition pieces that bring the early life of Sacramento settlers to life as well as its place in both California and the nation as a whole.
One of their past exhibits, named Capital Brew, revolves around local Sacramento breweries throughout the decades, beer production, and how it affected everyone socially.
Another one of their past exhibits, named “We Won the Vote: 100 Years of Equal Suffrage in California,” celebrates the 100 year anniversary of when California voters decided that women could have the right to vote. This exhibit also showcases memorabilia from the Women’s Rights Movement that happened throughout California.
The Sacramento History Museum is open seven days a week from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, however, they are closed on holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.
